Launched MediaTek Dimensity 7050 5G chipset for budget phones, rebranded from Dimensity 1080, set to debut in India soon.

MediaTek announces the launch of a new chipset, the Dimensity 7050, aimed at the budget mid-range mobile phone market. set to debut in India soon

The MediaTek Dimensity 7050 is manufactured on TSMC’s N6 process and has an 8-core processor consisting of two Cortex-A78 (2.6GHz) cores and six Cortex-A55 (2.0GHz) cores. The GPU is Mali-G68 MC4.

In addition, the Dimensity 7050 also supports a camera sensor with a maximum resolution of 200MP and 4K 30fps video recording, a maximum display resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels at a refresh rate of 120Hz, LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 ROM support. Supports Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2 and can use 5G simultaneously with 2 SIM cards.

The specification of the Dimensity 7050 is very similar to the Dimensity 1080 that was released earlier. So it’s not exactly a new chipset. It’s more of a rebrand from the Dimensity 1080.

The Dimensity 7050 will debut in the budget smartphone Lava Agni 2 5G in India soon.
